You are welcome to Huben

in the summer

Huben is located at the foot of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the largest and oldest national park in Austria, covering an area of 1800 km2. Summer activities in this area primarily include hiking and climbing, for which numerous routes on 10-15 meter walls have been created. You can experience an exhilarating trekking adventure on the Karnicki Trail, and the Glocknertrek route will lead you to Grossglockner, the highest peak in Austria. During mountain hikes, you can admire the magnificent Alpine landscape. In the valley, you will find the Isel River, which offers plenty of water sports attractions for enthusiasts.

Full of exciting experiences are the white-water rafting trips of varying difficulty levels and kayaking. Along the river, there is a gentle 30 km long bicycle path connecting the towns of Matrei and Lienz. In addition to the mentioned path, there are many marked mountain bike trails here, suitable for cyclists of varying skill levels. In the town of Lienz, you will find a 2.7 km long summer toboggan run (Osttirodler Sommerrodelbahn Hochstein Lienz) and one of the largest rope parks in Tyrol (Kletterpark Lienz). It's also worth exploring the treasures of regional culture, including Anras Castle, Bruck Castle, and the ancient Roman town of Aguntum.

in the winter

In the region, there are approximately 130 kilometers of ski slopes waiting for skiers. The closest one, only 8 kilometers from Huben, is the GrossGlockner Resort Kals-Matrei. There is also the possibility to purchase a ski pass that covers all ski resorts. During a break from skiing, you can enjoy a cup of hot tea and taste regional cuisine in one of the many slope-side restaurants.

In the vicinity, there are approximately 110 kilometers of cross-country skiing trails for skiers. The longest trail is Lienz-Oberdrauburg, measuring 50 kilometers. Just 6 kilometers from Lienz, there is an illuminated cross-country skiing trail - the Römerloipe in Lavant, which is 2 kilometers long. An excursion to one of the many toboggan runs guarantees great fun for the whole family. Before Christmas, it's worth visiting Lienz - the traditional Christmas market held in the main square of the city is one of the most beautiful in Tyrol.
